The Fusion Empire

Situated at the north of the continent of Airone, the small trading town of Fusion was set up to exploit the traffic of trades that moved through the Lornar mountain ranges and the ship yards to the north west. Mining was common in the Lornar mountains. Many sites were set up, exhausted and then abandoned with the goods shipped elsewhere. Tin and copper gained an especially high profit when exported and when being transported those who managed the loads needed places to rest and eat. Thus the first settlers capitalised on this opportunity and the town of Crudass was born.

Beds and brothels expanded outward to markets and cramped streets. It’s ideal placement generated wealth for its founded, encouraging its size to balloon in relatively short time. A new city was ruled by governors who were encouraged to forget any instances of lawbreaking or under handed activities by offering a pouch of coin. This act encouraged black markets to appear down the backstreets so criminals found a new haven. Fusion soon became dangerous; lawless in its early years. Running gangs competed to hijack passing shipments and the threat of force encouraged those shipping goods to be protected by hired security.

This chaos was soon subdued by a series of marshals who were tasked to bring the criminal element under control. The criminals, not to be outdone against crossbow and sword set about developing more advanced weaponry. The sudden discovery of gunpowder gave the criminal factions devastating leverage. This weaponry soon became freely available on the black markets, becoming the crux for Fusion’s foray in developing machines of warfare.

The Governors decided that rather than risk more civilian lives caught in street battles, they would seek a compromise and offered the crime syndicate a chance to go legitimate. This meant they provide weaponry and men for the newly formed Crudan army, to have their trade taxed and in return their operations to be allowed to operate with zero intervention.

This truce would form the beginnings of the Fusion Empire as small neighbours joined the alliance. Its military might was unsurpassed, whilst its more faithful neighbours devoted time to prayer and the practice for time consuming magic. Deciding that they needed to expand their boarders and nobody could provide opposition, Fusion became increasingly hostile. The first boarder disputes were messy affairs, brutal and unstructured. Soon, as more fell beneath their banners, but those who declared themselves as free men fortified themselves in preparation. To break through the defences, Fusion developed larger, more crushing methods of invasion. Steam engines, projectile weapons and flame throwers. Fusion’s developments horrified anyone who bears witness to them.

Marching as the Fusion Empire, the title was given by an appointed Administration, consisting of hereditary peers of those who formed Fusion from its early days. The Administration is overseen by a single man, dubbed as Head called Asmondeus LaTith. He steers the empire in whatever direction is deemed productive whilst others surrounding him provide advisory roles in specific affairs. Corruption is well known, but kept in check as it would seem that even money can’t buy loyalty in Fusion’s environment.

Fusion was known to hunt down Spirits across the continent. Entire task forces were formed to see if their sightings were real and if so, to obtain them as quickly as possible for an unknown cause.

In doing so, the hunt for the Phoenix began.
