Spirits

For as long as mankind walked the land, stories emerged of fantastic creatures that both terrorised and amazed in equal measures. Those who feared the creatures hunted them. Those who worshipped them revered their uniqueness as a sign of something greater at play than they could comprehend. Spirits, in all their forms and glory, are just as different as the animals and plants. A selection of Spirits enjoy human interaction, and as such are quite content with being worshipped as deities. Others revel in a more sadistic nature utilising their fear in humans or slaughter them.
Phoenix, Droon, Limit, Cerberus, Buboh.

Phoenix

A brilliant winged bird, the Phoenix is deemed to be a vengeful creature with very little mercy.

A small devoted tribe worship the Phoenix with the upmost respect and have done so for the past couple of centuries.

The Phoenix is synonymous with the aforementioned ‘War of the Pheonix’ only twenty years ago where the Phoenix, in its rage, obliterated a dense part of forest that became known as the Dead Lands on account that trees refused to grown on the ashen land and that animals never returned to habitat. Currently the Phoenix’s location is unknown to the Fusion Empire and they are very keen to find it.

Droon

A sea serpent with a large flailing wingspan.

Droons are of a rare breed of Spirits that congregate in groups. Whereas most Spirits seem to be unique, or the only known ones of their kind, there are at least two known ‘families’ of Droons, with the most prominent living in the Holy city of Aelysa.

Droons are protective Spirits with a high sense of loyalty. Most legends about them seem to focus on themes of sacrifice.

Limit

What Limit looks like is a question that will no doubt never be answered.

The first recorded instances of Limit picture him as a large grotesque, four legged wild beast. Later texts detail it as a shrieking monstrosity with wide skeletal wings and a bird like beak. Depictions of Limit may vary wildly but his temperament is the same. Limit is referred to in many texts as a harbinger of death mostly because of its uncomfortable appearance in many noticeable wars or sites of atrocity. It has become the subject of multiple children’s stories to enforce good behaviour otherwise “Limit will take them from their beds.”

In reality Limit is a nightmare that blights all those he comes in contact with. It has decimated towns in venom, murdered and feasted upon the living with no regard to age nor sex. There have been instances when groups of men have attempted to kill it once and for all, utilising various weapons or tactics to gain the edge over it. However Limit has never succumb to these instances and when disturbed has never left anybody alive to communicate the futility.

Cerberus

A colossal three headed beast and one of the first recorded Spirits to have been documented. Some forty foot tall, Cerberus displays little or no intelligence, seemingly motivated by nothing but its own animalistic urges. Its immense sweeping tail can demolish buildings with little effort and each mouth on each head is capable of carving chunks out of granite.

Its main habitat was the small southern islands where it would rampage through the forest and destroy all that was unfortunate to catch its attention. This Spirit was deemed so dangerous that it prompted the full scale migration of an entire capital city, reducing it to rubble because it was simply in its way.

Whilst most stories of Cerberus have been lost to the ages, its most notable remains vividly retold to this day. Once, when rampaging in its blood lust, it was said the Holy Sorceress noticed this destruction upon Her lands and decided that action must be taken. She sent her warriors, the Angel Troupe, to intercept Cerberus and bring it to justice. Not much is actually known about what happened, though it was certain that a fight did take place. After that time Cerberus was no longer seen. The site where this took place was turned into a shrine which became the centrepiece to a monastery.

There has been no further sighting of Cerberus in the last few centuries.

Buhboh

A small white creature, not dissimilar to that of rabbit.

Its sleek pale body and flat feet is said to endow it great speed. Its distinctive wide green eyes can be seen in the dark, but sightings of Buhboh are always in lush forested areas where it can vanish into undergrowth at the blink of an eye. It is this reason why people state that the Buhboh is almost never seen and those who have tend to be young children. Is it this that convinces most adults that it does not actually exist and is just the product of youthful imagination.

The Buhboh is considered an icon of great fortune and luck if seen.
