Fusion: Path To Aelysa
War has come and war has gone.
The continent of Airone had been scarred during the War for the Phoenix. As the Fusion Empire extended its reach, it became apparent that anyone opposing their invasion was quickly subdued. Their advancements in warfare ensured that nations fell quickly, bloodily if there was enough resistance. Thousands died as they fought to claim Mana Seraph, a fugitive who was fused with a powerful entity known as the Phoenix.
Half a decade has passed and Airone is neglected by its neighbours. As the Empire consumed the continent it closed its borders. Rumours swelled and before long, those who watched Airone became concerned at its isolation. Approaching boats were sunk as warnings for other fools keen to pique their curiosity. The dead washed up on each shore as a constant reminder for those imprudent enough to repeat such an attempt.
Whilst the oblivious may call this a time of peace, cells of fanatics have begun to rise, claiming that the Fusion Empire will soon bring in a glorious new age and that they will be honoured to pave its way. The fanatics soon become aggravated at being unable to make the pilgrimage to Airone and they lash out violently in towns and cities, lead on by an foolhardy obsession.
In the capital of Eifera, the monarch and his council dismiss claims from their Vertosa, the spiritual leader, that the empire will not stop with Airone. The Vertosa claims it will be a matter of time before the machines of war move again. But he is waved away by officials and considered paranoid by his own people. Yet he, the distinguished Janian Seraph, is more aware than anyone else exactly what the Fusion Empire is capable of.
And the rejections will not only be Eifera’s folly, but will impact on the world and bring the Heavens and the Holy Sorceress into question.
